UPDATE - Proof of Vaccine for Entry!

It's official! We are thrilled to let you know that as of July 1st, the Galapagos Islands will admit fully vaccinated travelers without any additional PCR testing requirements! This puts the Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands among the easiest, most hassle-free (and of course most amazing) destinations for your guests to visit.

Undisturbed paradise awaits, as Galapagos welcomes back first tourists with open arms. Those first travellers to visit the islands this year are experiencing a unique opportunity to discover the undisturbed natural beauty of this paradise location in rare solitude.

While cruise holidays on the whole remain limited for this year, the Galapagos is one of few cruise destinations able to welcome back vacationers, while the nature of small ship cruising allows for a return to the cruise experience which seems all the more fitting post-pandemic.

Touring Galapagos small yacht cruises sail with group sizes of less than 20 passengers, with a small crew on board. Once the ship is on the move the expeditions along the way visit remote sanctuary destinations offering the tranquil form of travel many are seeking post-pandemic.

Research in recent weeks shows two thirds of Americans are now in the ‘travel state of mind’, with 15% having made travel reservations or bookings within one week. Furthermore, Americans’ optimism about the course of the pandemic is up a staggering 40% since the start of the year, with 60.3% feeling things will get better in the next month. The average number of leisure trips Americans are reporting they will take in 2021 has also increased to 3.0 after hovering at 2.8 for much of the year.

Michael Eiseman our Co-founder of Touring Galapagos, reveals bookings are growing as the vaccine rolls out: “There has been a huge paradigm shift towards people looking for smaller yachts with less than 20 passengers, which is now the safest way to enjoy a cruise as well as experience a more intimate voyage. Bookings are growing daily as the vaccine rollout ramps up.

“We have 10 unique luxury yachts that offer 3, 4 and 7-day itineraries that will all resume in May. Over the past few months, charter bookings have risen as it’s the best option for those who have already been vaccinated, especially multigenerational families who are ready to travel again.

“Touring Galapagos has undertaken an array of important processes to ensure a safe return for our small ship cruises and we want our guests to feel safe and confident from the moment their trip starts until they are back home, reminiscing about the experience they just had with us.

“We are excited to resume all our cruises this year, and the majestic wildlife and natural beauty of the Galapagos is awaiting to provide a truly unique experience for those first travellers who venture back to the islands.”
